INVOCATION OF THE WULF INCENSE SET
LIMITED EDITION • In partnership with Robert Eggers' Werwulf and Focus Features, this set pairs incense with a sculptural burner and printed invocation inspired by the ritualistic world of the film. These incense pastilles were made by hand in Los Angeles during the full moon. Place one upon the ash plate and light its tip. Cover with the skull and let the smoke rise through the eyes as an offering to the forest and the beast within.
SMELLS LIKE: Skin, damp earth, root, resin, and the suggestion of wet fur. Animalic, earthen, and unnervingly alive.

The Invocation of the Wulf Set includes a large skull sculpture measuring 6.5" x 5.5", along with a custom ash plate, both made of matte black bisque. It includes 18 pastilles (incense cones), made from charcoal and scented with the Werwulf fragrance.
The incense itself was made by hand in Los Angeles during three successive full moons in the year 2026 (July, August, September), transforming its manufacture into an act of intention and ceremony.
CAUTION: Burn with care and at your own risk. Burn on a secure and heat-resistant surface. Never leave burning incense unattended. Keep away from flammable objects, children, and pets. Use in a well-ventilated area and do not breathe smoke directly.
Upon the dish is cut the Sign of the wulf. Take one portion of the incense appointed to the work. Lay it upon the Sign, within the dish prepared for it. Give fire unto it. Let the flame take hold until a living ember is made. Then extinguish the flame, but preserve the ember. When smoke beginneth to rise, set the head over it. Let the smoke enter the hollow and find its passage through the vessel.
When the smoke hath entered the chamber, place thy hand beside the Sign. Wait until the smoke passeth through its mouth and eyes. Then say three times:
"By root beneath earth, by seed within fruit, by blood beneath flesh, by name beneath tongue, I give smoke until that which hath no breath. I give passage until that which hath no feet."
The Full Moon Ritual: The work takes place beneath three full moons, each following the last.
The First Moon: At the first fullness the work is begun. Matter is gathered unto matter. What was separate is made one. Three days are given to the work. Then it is put away and left to darkness.
The Second Moon: At the next fullness the matter is brought forth again. That which was begun is continued. That which hath rested is awakened. Again, three days are given. Again, it is returned to darkness.
The Third Moon: At the third fullness the matter is brought forth for the last time. The work begun beneath the first moon is made complete beneath the third. Three days are given. Thereafter it is sealed.
In partnership with Robert Eggers X Focus Features, Heretic is proud to collaborate on Werwulf, the scent of the beast awakening beneath human skin. The 18 incense pastilles included are scented with the film's signature Werwulf fragrance.
As you allow the smoke to pass through the skull's eyes and mouth, at first there shall be bitterness. Then rose, not as a flower, but as flesh. Osmanthus shall ripen against orris and violet leaf. Vanilla shall darken. Labdanum and benzoin shall begin to smolder. Vetiver shall bring the earth. Thereafter may come another odor. Warm hide. Damp earth. Wet fur. The smell of an animal come in from the rain.
Wer — Man.

Werwulf is the scent of the beast awakening—the moment under the full moon when civility gives way to something older.
